My weak OF gets a decent patch with McLouth and Raburn (in the minors now).  This started off as a deal with the A's but he wanted a starting pitcher.  With both of us tight at the cap, a likely suitor came up in the deal with Pittsburgh continuing its "firesale".

I appreciate the dealings with both Mike and Colby.  I confirm the deal.

With Jurrjens out, I needed to obtain another SP.  When he returns, I can throw Liriano at RP.  Duke is not special, but good with GB%.  The Pirates also do not have anyone threatening to take his job.  Marmol is a great K guy, very good a bump up in the bullpen.  I give up Mclouth and clear his $5.5 m for next year and give it Marmol and Duke.  Blevins is a decent young arm for the Cubbies.

Accepted.  I tried to take advantage of my role as not just a supplier of pitching to Oakland, but the mediator of cap room between two teams at the cap.  I like the return in the deal as I pick up two top OF prospects and the 110th pick in the draft.  I also clear $2.5m of payroll in 2011.

This seems to be a very fair trade. It is often hard to split a trade 3 ways, but the three owners were able to come to an agreement. This trade stays true to the individual philosophies of each GM. APPROVED
