The  :FL: and the  :OAK: have agreed to the following deal:

 :FL: receive MI/CI Fontenot, Mike, $0.5m (P-2010)

and

:OAK: receive: OF Coghlan, Chris, $0.5m (P-2012)

While Coghlan is struggling now, I believe he may be able to rebound.  He is a good OBP guy when he gets it going.  I am a big Fontenot fan, but Hank needed a MI and Fontenot fits the bill.  Both players are young hitters in good lineups.

Good deal for both.

This trade is pending the approval of the Cubbies/A's deal from earlier.

The Marlins are to confirm.

We have amended the deal to be:

 :FL: receive
MI/CI Fontenot, Mike, $0.5m (P-2010)
P Norris, Bud, $0.5m (P,n/a)

and

:OAK: receive: OF Coghlan, Chris, $0.5m (P-2012)

This gives FLA and additional SP that is young and has potential.

Hank to confirm.

Good trade... will surely be approved.  Hank, let me know who you want to drop to make room for the extra player.

I would drop RP Kiko Calero, a 35 year-old minor leaguer.
Thanks.

This will go down as the first trade I have decided on since becoming a member of the TC. I do not like this trade especially since Font is no longer a starter (Starlin Castro has been called up and Theriot is now the everyday 2b). It looks like Castro is here to stay judging by his performance. However since this trade was agreed to BEFORE this happened, I think Bud Norris makes this close enough, so I approve.
