It is very unfair to use rosters from over a year ago while losing all FAs. Rosters should had been updated to at least the end of the season which is the moment when FAs go free. I am guessing this league was supposed to start last year at some point and was postponed for this season?
No, I believe from the beginning we were shooting for the 2012 season to start things off. As for the rosters the constitution states the time frame of the rosters on page 4.
"Roster Configurations
Each organization shall consist of a 25-man active roster, a 40-man reserve roster, and minor
league rosters (AAA, AA, A Advanced, A, A Short Season, Rookie).
To start off the league, each organization inherits the players and their contracts in Major
League Baseball and Minor League Baseball as of May 21, 2011."
This is an example of why kenny wanted everyone joining the league to read the constitution. For some of us it has not been overly friendly but that is what we agreed to when accepting our positions as GM's. We have had GM's come and go with not making overly wise choices but just like at our jobs, sometimes we have to clean up other peoples messes and move forward. Unfortunately the mets are one of those cases, not just here but the Mets as a whole. I hope you can turn things around for your organization(as long as you finish with the wild card behind me in the standings). Part of the fun (I think) is being able to put your stamp on it and watch it blossom into something special.
