so what's the penalty if my team is either over or under the cap limit?

do teams get warnings?

how long do they get to comply?

It should be relatively severe, IMO.  Teams should face hard consequences for going over the cap for sure.  Roster limit should be less harsh.

The rule should be that a player who has played 40 games is automatically assigned to the major league roster.  If it causes the cap to go over, or if the roster size is exceeded, there are natural consequences to this.  We should then give the team a 24/48 hour window to resolve that issue.  Allowing a free for all will create a serious tilt and ruin this league quickly.  It will feel good at first, but it will be terrible later.

If a team is inactive and doesn't sign a player it would be unwise to Abomb that team and deter others from wanting it in the future.  Furthermore, it certainly can happen that a minor league player reaches 40 games and somebody doesn't know about it, especially because they are not on the fantrax rosters.  I think sending players to free agency is a bad route and will hurt us.  This isn't a money league, its competitive but relaxed.  That's my opinion.

After the season, can we trade a player who is due to be a free agent, but that we don't plan on signing?

Basically, can we trade a player's negotiating rights?

I believe yes. If you don't plan on signing him you can trade them up until free agency is about to start.

yes, agree it should be severe either over or under the cap ceiling or floor respectively.

perhaps a penalty of the "carrying cost" of the last players removed from a team's roster that caused them to drop below the floor... the cost is padded to the team's budget over the next 2yrs. for teams exceeding cap, you lose your top draft pick or lose the last player added to your roster than put your team over the cap.

in either case, i think you can only apply these penalties if a team has broken the cap for over a month.

at the end of the day, that's all for the EC + RC to decide.

the deadline to sign pending FA's is June 24th 2012 11:59pm...

if i sign player X to an extension for 1 yr... on June24th, does that mean his contract expires 2011-12 or does it expire 2012-13?

just want to make sure i understand how this works.

  • Daddy: Just know, if you miss time at any point of the year, not just the active season. You have missed a lot. You've probably fallen behind your competition. Ten-Fifteen guys in all three of those leagues dont ever miss any opportunities.
  • Daddy: One more thing. The NFL LIVE waiting list is longer than you see on profsl or fantrax. There are people that know people that want in that league. No pressure on anyone but i cant just hold your franchise while you draft and do nothing else.
