New York Knicks make this trade to balance out the roster. Andre Drummond played PF/C and we couldn't start him, Mitchell Robinson, Christian Wood, and Jarrett Allen on the same days. Also, having Drummond and Jarrett Allen on the same team compounded the issue. With Caris LeVert being out for some time and Malik Beasley as my only point guard getting Donovan Mitchell to play point guard and shooting guard really helps balance out an out of whack roster. I finally get a point guard to back up Malik Beasley, lol. We hate to lose the 2nd round picks and Mason Jones, and especially Time Lord Robert Williams, but it is worth it to balance out the roster and get the very slight upgrade in Donovan Mitchell. Only reservation is bailing out a competitive team in the Utah Jazz of some major salary cap issues and creating the two headed monster of Andre Drummond and Rudy Gobert. That should be an interesting combination going forward. I probably set him up for years to come as he couldn't extend both Gobert and Donovan Mitchell without this deal anyway, but at least my roster is balanced. Thanks, Vik, for the long talks over a few weeks. I am glad we could reach an arrangement that certainly benefits both teams.
