Thanks, good to know. When is the deadline to get back under the cap and what if any consequences are there for not getting to the cap by the deadline?

I have another request for clarification related to the question above that still needs to be answered.
Can a team go over the cap just when re-sign a player or also through a trade (for example, I have $5m cap space in 2021 and 2022 and I buy a $30m player with 2021 contract fully paid)?

It’s all the same. It doesnt matter if it’s by trade or resign, you can go over the cap in future years. There is no deadline when you have to be back under. However if say you are over cap next year, as soon as the off season starts, EVERY move made has to be made to clear cap (meaning any trade has to send out more cap then you bring back and you will not be able to participate in FA until under the cap).

No. You have to have the cap to promote them.

Is it possible to trade G league players and draft picks after the trade deadline or should we wait the end of playoffs?
It would be great if trading of all players (not just G league or picks) could be extended until the start of playoff. It is probably a late request but maybe it can be a proposal for next year.
Another question, can we release a player from active team anytime even during playoff?

Trading will not open right away. When I move rosters over to the next season, trading will then open up.

Thought I answered this but no all players are subject to the trade deadline. After deadline, no player can be traded till trading opens in off-season

If it is possible in Fantrax I believe it would be a good idea to end the fantasy season a week before the final week of the actual NBA season. So essentially start the playoffs a week earlier and have the championship the 2nd to last week of the NBA regular season instead of the last week of the actual NBA season. The last week of the actual NBA season gets kind of crazy with players resting, being shut down early, injuries, playing young players to get a look at them, all the 10-day contracts etc. I think it would be a good practice and will end up with playoff results that more closely match who the best and worst teams are in the playoffs.

Spurs agree, playing the Finals one or even two weeks before the last week of the actual NBA season would work best

This is the way I intended it this year but with Covid making the schedule in flux, it was hard to make sure to get schedule not using the last week. Next season will hopefully provide a return to normal NBA scheduling and I will make sure we don't use the last week of the NBA season.

I will say though that out of all the major sports, NBA is the most difficult to nail down for playoffs truly showing the best teams. Teams who are out of it start resting their stars with more than a month in the season sometimes and it screws top teams in fantasy who have those players. Baseball/Football the stars still play down the stretch unless they are legitimately injured.
