Since I have some free time and waiting for our league to get going I took a look at all of our teams goalie depth. I compared them to the keeper league goalie top 100 published by one of the hockey sites. So, I tallied up everyone’s goalies and separated them as prospects and NHL players. This is what I found
The teams with the deepest group of prospects are.
1 – Ari, they have 6 prospects, 5 ranked in the top 100. They also have 2 graduated to NHL that are in the top 100. With 9 total goalies, 8 ranked in the top 100, a very strong group.
2 – NYI, they have 7 prospects, 5 ranked in the top 100. Being 1 of 2 teams with 5 prospects ranked in the top 100 this is the #2 prospect group. Total 8 goalies 6 ranked in the top 100 should become a strong NHL group in the next few years.
3,4 – Bos, Stl, they both have 6 prospects and 3 ranked in the top 100.
5,6 – Det, Col, they both have 4 prospects and 3 ranked in the top 100.
7 – Buf, the last team with 3 ranked in the top 100 has 3 prospects.
Now for the worst prospect groups.
20 – Chi, they have 1 prospect and he’s not ranked in the top 100. They do have a very strong NHL group with 5 all ranked in the top 100.
19,18 – Phi, Was, they both have 3 prospects, none ranked in the top 100. Both do have 3 NHL goalies ranked in the top 100.
17 – Edm, they have 4 prospects, none ranked in the top 100. 3 NHL goalies and 1 ranked.
16 - Tor, has 1 prospect, 1 ranked in the top 100. In NHL has 3, 2 rank in top 100
15,14 – Pit, Vgk, all have 2 prospects, 1 ranked in the top 100. In NHL Vgk 3, 0 rank and Pit 4, 3 rank.
13 – Nyr, they have 4 prospects, 1 ranked in the top 100. 3 NHL goalies and 1 ranked.

1 – VAN, 5 and all 5 top 100
2 – STL, 5 and 4 top 100
3 – WIN, 3 and 3 top 100
4 – CHI, 5 and all 5 top 100
5 – PIT, 4 and 3 top 100
All this is just for comparison, but it seems to show the importance of having at least 3 top NHL goalies to compete in the league and those teams with week prospect groups will be left behind the other teams. COL is the only other team to have more than 3 that are not in the top 5.
