Commissioner 2012: A Space Odyssey

Rob already reached out to me about this idea and it is one that I would approve.  Ultimately, the Commissioner status is one for organization.  My reduced role will focus on the RC and statistic keeping.  For instance, ensuring realism of records, prorating them if necessary, and adding the story of the year for each franchise.  I am doing that over the next two weeks and have done it for the top teams in the playoffs outside the Jays/Dodgers.

Everyone,

There are several of us that have been discussing the administration moving forward here at FGM.  First off, we all would like to praise Colby for the job he has done and the great league that he has set up here for the future.

We would like to propose to the league the following administration team for the coming season:

Commissioner - Dan Wood
NL President - Paul Smithey  
AL President - Rob Miller
Accountant - Howe Cheng

Our goal is to have people on serve in one capacity and not many, but allow for these positions to overlap to assist with taking care of the many tasks of the league.  We intend to layer responsibility so that if one person can not get to something in a timely manner, it will be covered by another. 

The President positions and accountant will be new.  The Presidents will serve as the primary contact for managers in each league.  This is for new members and for current members that would like to discuss something.  The accountant will review all financial transactions prior to the processing of them.  This will include new signings and trades. 

Each of the members mentioned above have approved that they will serve in these positions.  We now ask the league if everyone would be happy with this setup.  Once we get some feedback we will discuss with Colby on how to move forward.

Not sure how much my opinion counts but my vote for Commish would be for Millertime. As he was the one who really helped me get into the league and not make any bad rash moves.

It very well can be, but ultimately there has to be a leader of executive decisions and order.

Mike you also left out that I lead the league in most offensive categories, including nose hair.

I will gladly accept taking over the Commish seat again...so long as everyone is in agreement.

If not for a minimal understanding of the best movie ever made (Major League) and the fact he once threw at his own kid at a father-son game, Dan Wood would (how much wood would a...) make a fine commish.....All kidding aside, the league will be in great hands with any of the above-mentioned candidates, but since Dan stepped to the dish first, he has my vote

You were on the EC before... this is the commish role which take care of all executive decisions, turnover, profile fields, league history, allstar voting, etc...

Dunno if I have time for all that with a kid on the way... would be more than happy to do most of that... I would be more than willing to be a consistent executive figure. I think (as I have noticed in the draft) there isn't a definite hierarchy. There is you, then everyone else. I think the commish's prime duties are to keep the league moving forward in a fair and straight forward manner. I'm not to sure I would want the tasks of profile fields (dunno what that is), league history, and the etc...executive decisions, turnover, and so on I am all well and good with.

I would not have the time to commit... my free time comes in spurts, but not consistently throughout the year.
