Angels/Yankees deal
« on: December 18, 2016, 12:17:52 PM »
Angels Receive:
Francisco Cervelli 8.75(2017)
6M pd in 2017

Yankees receive:
Angels draft picks rounds 12 through 30.

To be confirmed by LAA

Yankees make this deal with the emergence of Gary Sanchez and hopefully the health of Devin Mesoraco, Cervelli didn't fit into the plans for the Yankees. Getting the draft picks will continue to help my rebuild. Thanks for the easy talks!

Angels approve

While I already have 4 catchers on my 40man, Cervelli figures to be one of the 2 best and improves my starting lineup. Getting him on what is essentially a discounted 1yr 2.75M deal is cheaper than what FA would have cost and I'm comfortable paying the price in picks.

Thanks to the Yankees for easy trade talks.

PS Angels have surplus of catching depth so trade talks for Jett Bandy, Narvaez and Bethancourt are welcome for teams in need of catchers.

Starting catchers alone are worth more than that, much less really good starting catchers.  Not to mention last year I offered two prospects that are much better than anything that's going to be found in rounds 12-30 for Cervelli and I was told Cervelli was worth much more than that.

I agree with the statement wholeheartedly. However, market doesn't seem agree with either of us.

Cervelli was 18th best C on Fantrax last year which makes him an average catcher to fill the number one catcher slot on a team. Also, 4 catchers rated higher than him and a handful of decent lower rated ones are available in FA this offseason. Plus at 8.75M he isn't cheap. For example, Wellington Castillo had more points than Cervelli last year and I find it doubtful he gets much more than 9M+ per year in FA. I would bet he gets less.

As far as your denied trade last year, well that was last year. As the Yankees said this is his market now that he has a half a year or so less control on him.

Chris, with all due respect, I think you do a good job as commish in this league, but please don't veto trades because you think you could get a better deal or run people's teams better than they do.

Is there collusion? No.
Is there a gross imbalance of assets being moved that threatens the integrity of the league? No.

Trades take so much work. Sometimes trades take months to complete. I had Blackmon deal for Salazar with 1st Rd swap (from 29 to 18) vetoed. That's trash.  Yankees and Angels believe this helps THEIR squads. I don't care what they're doing.  We all have things we're trying to accomplish.  I will only veto collusion deals.  Yankees, I'm gonna whip him in the division for years to come. I also gonna kick Angels ass come playoff time.

I approve the deal.

I've run this league for a couple of years now so I know why a trade can and can't be vetoed and collusion has never been the standard, ever, because it's impossible to prove.  Of course you vetoed my trade with the Braves at the trade deadline with no collusion so you seem to want to have it whichever which way any time you like.

I approve the deal.

So tell me how you're going to investigate and prove collusion because it sounds like you're just going to rubber stamp any trade that gets posted and if that's the case then we may need to go back to a trade committee who will actually evaluate trades on their merits.

Who the hell are you to question my motives? I'm going to thoroughly kick your team's ass next year. Difference between you and I is that I do not act like a little crybaby everytime someone makes a deal. Player dumps and collusion are obvious.

The Atlanta-Giants deal is trash. However, the Giants have been part of this league for a bit so he should know the difference.

This trade is good for Yankees.  You don't value late picks. If he hits on ONE then it's a win for him. Angels is getting shot in arm for title competition.

Nobody bitched when you traded for Cody Bellinger. He's a top 35 prospect and number one in the Dodgers loaded system. In my opinion, that's the worst deal I've seen. However, you and him agreed and I felt you both really thought it was good. I don't veto out of spite either.

I AM GOING TO STOMP THE Crap OUT OF YOUR OVERRATED ASS ROSTER. HOUSTON IS #1 TEAM I WANT TO CRUSH AS PROBABLY THE REST OF THE LEAGUE DOES AS WELL. YOU TANKED AS WELL. I'VE SEEN THE HISTORY. YOUR TRACK RECORD SUCKS. YOU NEED TO BE WORRIED ABOUT ME INSTEAD OF CRITIQUING EVERYONE'S DEALS.

I'm the guy who has run this league for several years.  Who are you?

Sounds like you need a timeout bro.
