to the nats in exchange for
P Minor, Mike, $0.5m (P-2013)
CI Rizzo, Anthony, $0.5m (P-n/a)

the yanks do this to get to future studs and clear some cap, even though huff was supposed to help us this year we feel this trade is worth that loss

I make this move to land a couple proven contributors on nice contracts (Huff and Zito) and add a top reliever with a quality pitching prospect. I probably should have traded Rizzo when his value was high, but Huff can hopefully regain his form and help my struggling young team score some points the next couple of years. Thanks Daniel!

I can't approve this deal.  Rizzo and Minor are specs that have shown capability in AAA and have high ceilings.  Huff and Zito are both nearing part-time player status from now til the end of their respective careers, which might be very soon for Zito.  Krol is ok, but been hurt all year.  Santos is good, but RP have minimal value in this league. 

I also don't see why Was would get two guys that may not have solid PT next year and give up two players that have a high probability of having major league jobs next season and coming into their prime. 

Just my two cents on the deal.

I agree with Rob.  Rizzo should get much more in a return.  Zito should have zero value and Huff is an up and down player.  I think there needs to be a renegotiation.

You need to contact Jake and see what he would agree with, us tossing out ideas means nothing.

We trust Jake, don't appreciate that comment.  It is not about trust, this is just not a good trade.
