Pirates send AGon to SF
« on: July 14, 2014, 06:06:33 PM »
The Pirates have found a suitor for AGon. The Giants who are third in the NL West and fourth in the NL Wildcard just picked up one of the game's best hitters.  We're also sending a couple veteran relievers who weren't expected to stay with the Pirates next year due to their contracts.  In return, we believe we are bringing two starters for next year (Amarista and Dyson) along with a few prospects who are trying to find their way up to the bigs.

:PIT: sends to :SF:
CI Gonzalez, Adrian, $19m (2015) + $17.5m in 2014 and $8m in 2015
RP Ottavino, Adam, $0.5m (2014)
RP Manship, Jeff, $0.5m (2014)

:SF: sends to :PIT:
MI-OF Amarista, Alexi, $1m (2016)
OF Dyson, Jarrod, $1m (2015)
CI Cowart, Kaleb, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI Villanueva, Christian, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Almonte, Abraham, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Giants welcome Adrian Gonzalez to our team.  He is a dynamic hitter who will certainly help us to be competitive in the NL West.  We also get two RPs who should help us in our weekly battles.  It's always tough to give up prospects, but proven production always trumps potential.  We wish Alexi Amarista and Jarrod Dyson continued success as members of the Pirates--they have certainly helped the Giants this season.

Each team gets something they want from this trade and I thank Colby for his patience during the negotiation process.

We ask the Trade Council to approve this deal.

BTW--Was a decision made about adding Dave (Tarheels55) and I to the Trade Council?
