Royals are looking to acquire a fairly cheap SP with Tim Hudson going down. I would prefer someone with a contract expiring after this year. Not looking for a huge deal.

Berkman is currently hurt but is close to being back. Could help a team on a run to the playoffs in August. Petitte is pitching pretty good and would be a good pickup to provide a boost to a contenders rotation heading into the playoffs. Not going to be resigning these guys and they are on expiring contracts so they will move.
