The Jays hate to see Hill go, but if that's the price to pay for getting rid of Wells contract, we are more than willing to do so. The cheap prospects plus the draft picks weill help the Jays restock in prospects who will help rebuild this franchise in the future and the cap room will allow us to pursue some valuable FA's this winter.

I am picking up a lot of liability here in the contracts.  I am also losing a young talented reliever which I need, but I replace him with a capable player in Downs.  The loss of the picks is not so much an issue because I still have plenty of money to spend on contract extensions and free agents.

Wow, this deal is pretty big and it really settles the Yankees offensive depth concerns (like they had any).  It also puts the Blue Jays in an excellent position to build for the future and compete in the free agency market.

wow, this trade will turn some heads. Really opens up the Jays move for Free Agency. This deal kind of scaries my team a little! & the Yankees just are getting so powerful!
