Just need to clarify something. Are the owners moving to new teams drafting for their old teams? And if so, why? Wouldn't it seem feasible for hank or jeff to draft for their new teams? Who is drafting for the Tigers and Red Sox?

The Tigers don't even draft till much later.  The current and future GM of the Giants, Marlins, Tigers, and Phillies will make their picks.  The current GM can make the pick for the future GM or the future GM can make the pick.

Yes and no... the three of them are taking orders from the new GMs at who to take.  Hank has already worked with Samuel on whom he wanted to take in the draft.  It is a fairly temporary issue as the playoffs are over in two plus weeks.

Guess I'm confused why the transferring owners don't just draft for their teams, and the new owners draft for theirs.  I don't feel that a GM drafting for two teams, no matter how transparent, is a good idea.

Effectively, the new GM drafts for their team.  The old GM drafts for their new team.  It is a matter of keeping things official with GMs still having duties for their teams in the playoffs.
