Braves, Tigers come to an agreement
« on: May 18, 2010, 01:15:25 AM »
X-SP Hudson, Tim, Braves are paying for $1m of Tim Hudson's salary in 2010, $-1m in 2010
(I'm guessing that comes back to me?)
SP Hudson, Tim, $6m (2013)
C Jaso, John, $0.5m (P-n/a)
3-3 draft pick

for

C Doumit, Ryan, $4m (2013)
SP Lowe, Derek, $15m (2012)
X-SP Lowe, Derek Braves pay $14mil in 2010
OF Jones, Brandon, $0.5m (P-2012)

This trades allows me to add Alex Burnett without dropping anyone.

As Jeff said, he gets a starting C.  Moving allows the Braves a lot of flexibility in the future.

Interesting how Hudson went full circle here.  Hudson's big contract and Lowe's monster are swapped.  One team receives a top 100 pick and the other one which takes more liability picks up an average MLB catcher.
