Ryan Raburn Extension
« on: June 30, 2011, 07:58:07 AM »
He has not been given MI elgibility yet on fantrax, I have requested this.

The A's are extending him for two years at 3M.

OF Raburn, Ryan, $3m (2013)

He was the 61st ranked OF in 2010 and ranks 126 in 2011.

You had requested that he be put at MI prior to the extension and he did get his 25 games at MI, prior to the extension.

The extension was posted prior to jim getting MI elgibility processed on fantrax.  Just cause they get the 25 games does not actually mean that they gain the positional elgibility in this league.  He was not a MI in this league until Corey processed the request, after the extension.

Raburn's 25th game at 2B was effective June 26th, 2011 at 1:05 PM EST.
Rob requested MI eligibility on June 29th, 2011 at 9:19 PM EST.
Contract extension was effective June 30th, 2011 at 6:58 AM EST.

It is safe to say that MI needs to be considered for the extension.  In general, it is up to the EC and Commissioner to take on the responsibility of checking values and positions during an extension.  If they fail to do so then the GM can have an advantage which is perfectly fine.  However, this situation, Rob requested the MI eligibility and followed up with the extension.  If he did it the other way around, and Rob didn't say anything, and Corey, Howe, myself, and others didn't catch it then he could have had the extension based on OF alone.  That is not the case due to the series of events.  It doesn't matter when it was changed in Fantrax, but when the player officially gains eligibility.  Sorry Rob. :judge:

Insert generic complaining and b#thcing here {          }.  It is what it is.  Life got in the way of me paying attention on this one.  Stated my case and I am fine with your result.

Please disregard extension for now, I will reevaluate after the 2nd half.

The club also placed right-hander Michael Grove on the 15-day injured list due to lat tightness. In corresponding moves, the club has recalled right-hander J.P. Feyereisen and selected the contract of right-hander Michael Petersen. To make room for Petersen on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred right-hander Joe Kelly to the 60-day injured list.
