My concern with an innings limit would be that a shrewd GM could start multiple pitchers on Sunday and bypass the limit by quite a bit.

I agree that the way fantrax enforces this is less than ideal.  You could probably say the same thing about GS though.

That said, if this is all we have to work with, is this rule change not an improvement?

If the league moves to profsl scoring system next season, then we will not have any of those issues and we can have all teams in one league again.

I also don't think the opportunity will present itself to load up on one day, and if it does it will be awfully fluky. With the talent pool that is generally available, I really don't think it will be an issue. If this were a 12 team league, then yes it would be more of a concern.

Well then now is the moment for everyone to put there proposals before the RC, so we can decide. I'll give it a week, the proposals will then be looked at by the RC and a decision will be made.

I would like to make one last pitch for Game Score (see below).  We could ignore # 3 if it's a problem.  This stat has been used for years by sites such as ESPN to measure a pitcher's effectiveness.  I know it's not fielding independent, but I still think it's light-years better than what we are currently using.  For example, the current scoring isn't fair to pitchers in small ballparks and flyball pitchers.

Game Score is a metric devised by Bill James to determine the strength of a pitcher in any particular baseball game. To determine a starting pitcher's game score:

   1. Start with 50 points.
   2. Add 1 point for each out recorded, so 3 points for every complete inning pitched.
   3. Add 2 points for each inning completed after the 4th.
   4. Add 1 point for each strikeout.
   5. Subtract 2 points for each hit allowed.
   6. Subtract 4 points for each earned run allowed.
   7. Subtract 2 points for each unearned run allowed.
   8. Subtract 1 point for each walk.

Change this

Quote
1. Start with 50 points.
   2. Add 1 point for each out recorded, so 3 points for every complete inning pitched.

to

IP = 50/9 + 3 = 8.56
K = 1
H = -2
ER = -4
UER = -2
BB = -1

I would remove the points lost for runs allowed and utilize XBH.
