Pirates in arms race thanks to trade with Blue Jays

Thanks to Daniel, the man from way down south (Venezuela) who manages a team way up north (Canada).  Okay, Toronto isn't that far north!  I get two of my favorite young pitchers in the game.  I had salary cap, but I don't plan on jumping in the crazy free agent market with the rest of you guys.

This deal leaves me with $1m in cap room, a PITA liability in Kotchman and my most expensive player in Scherzer.  I have a lot of prospect extensions that I could make, but at the end of the day I run a small-market team, so if I want to make a run, I need to throw money at free agents - or pending free agents.

The Jays accept this trade. We are in need of some new blood after the blatant failure in the playoffs. Some faces must go and some new ones shall arrive. Scherzer and Guthrie were going to be too expensive for us, so we decided to flip them away for a couple of young prospects that have a bright future. Good deal Colby, thanks.
