Franchise GM: Completed Trades / Rockies - Braves Trade 2/5/21 11:12 pm ET
« on: February 05, 2021, 08:50:26 PM »
Braves trade:
MI Stott, Bryson, $0.5m (P-n/a)
RP Doval, Camilo, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Liberatore, Matthew, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Cano, Robinson, $8m (2021)
Rockies trade:
MI-OF Taylor, Chris, $10.5m (2023)
This trade is initiated to continue the transformation of the Braves into a competitive team. Even though the Braves have a sizeable amount of available cap, the MI free agent pool is quite thin. There are a lot of philosophical differences regarding the correct way to rebuild a team, and in the Braves case, the team has languished in mediocrity far too long. Getting a veteran bat like Chris Taylor will plug a huge hole in the Braves lineup. Tough to give up prospects whose ETA is the next year or so, but the Braves need to move forward with some proven assets. Robinson Cano is included in lieu of a Cash Exchange.
Rockies to confirm.
