With both A. Ogondo and J. Niese on the DL the Dodgers need SP just to keep up.  MI/CI Murphy is a backup but is tough to give up nonetheless; as is Head but  Samardzija is a Top 10 SP and will fit at the top of our rotation.

Phillies confirm.  I am happy with getting Murphy who I think is a solid and consistent player.  I'm also hoping Head can make it to the bigs next year.  I was not going to resign Samardzija to an extension after next year based on the price.
