Ogando does have a big contract but remember that right now he is a SP/RP not a RP/SP. The current Dodger pen is woefully weak and using Ogando as a SP will only bolster my bullpen numbers.  I stand to gain $1m in the deal and Chris Archer and Nick Franklin are waiting in the wings.
I examined this team for about 4 days and determined that this is the course of action I want to take. Rosario was not my first  choice, Buster Posey was nor was Ogando. He was  just a necessary evil to acquire the 2nd best C in baseball(IMO). With all the injuries I have right now I need a stick just to keep up: Look at the results from last week. Besides, Rosario was a pet project of mine while ChiSox GM

I believe this would put the Dodgers over the salary cap limit.

The deal is close... Reyes is getting older and is always hurt anyway. Ogando as an SP will be very good, especially once he gets back into SP form. Rosario has showed good promise.

I believe the Dodgers GM knows what he is doing and I see no issue with the deal.

So the cash exchange is money being put into my coffer. I need to renegotiate that aspect?
After giving it some thought I realized that any cash exchange is in 2014 and 2015.
Right now my balance should be $0. I'm trading away $14M  in actual salary and taking on $13M. If the trade is approved my balance should be +$1M

Dodgers trade:
MI Jose Reyes $7m (2014)
SP Justin Masterson $7m 2015
SP Zach McAllister P-2015
Cash Exchange for Masterson- $4m 2014, $2m 2015

White Sox trade:
C Rosario, Wilin $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Ogando, Alexi $12.5 (2015)
Jake Thompson (P-n/a)

As some of you may remember I'm a huge proponent of a strong catcher. An effort to acquire didn't work so I got the next best. I resisted trading him while with the Sox but we're reunited in LA.
I figure that with Nick Franklin(Luis Sardinas a step behind) in the wings Reyes could be traded for a quality catchers. Trading Masterson and McAllister was difficult but; after Archer's premire in 2012 he should be called up soon. Besides, acquiring Ogando gives me a SP and is eligible at RP also.

Edit- Should read"after an effort to acquire Buster Poseydidn't work out"...

The $4m paid in 2013 on Masterson goes with him to the White Sox.  The White Sox will pay $4m for 2013 on Alexi Ogando.  Dodgers and White Sox to confirm.
