Yankee / Rockies trade 7/6/26 9:23P

[dennymcc23]

Yankees trade: Xander Boegarts MI (SD) $7m (2026), Vinnie Pasquintino CI (KC)
                       $4m (2030) and Mike Yastrzenski OF (ATL) $10m (2027)

Rockies trade: Jose Ramirez* CI (CLE) $22m (2030), Ryan Vilade OF (TB) $0.5m
(2030 and Ildernaro Vargus CI, MI (ARI) $0.5m (2027).

*Rockies will take $2m off Jose salary for (2026)

It is tough to let Xander and Vinnie go but to acquire Jose now at this time I had to go
with all his $$$ baggage a setback into the future. Yaz was the dump off for me. 2 young roster players in the mix rounds this trade out for the future.

Paul will confirm, thanks Rockies!

[Paul S.]

Rockies confirm.  Bogaerts is the MI we were looking for.  Ramirez and Pasquantino will both be coming back from hamate bone surgery and may not be very productive in the second half of this season. Yastrzemski  was a throw in to make the salaries work.

A lot of $$ commitments here but it looks like the money works out. No problem with the talent changing hands.
