Pirates - Phillies Trade 1/23/26 9:19P

[TheLongHorn]

Pirates send: CI Zach McKinstry 500k (2026)

Phillies send: MI Nasim Nunez arb 2 500k
                    P Cole Miller PC

Pirates make a move to flip a player that we weren?t going to resign for an MI with a lot of team control and a prospect arm we are high on. Rolling the dice that Nunez will be holding down the keystone for the nationals for a longtime. Phillies to confirm.

Phillies confirm.  Trading long term value for some short term value.   McKinstry adds versatility and backup insurance as our primary middle infield backup.  Really like Nunez/Miller but we are in win now mode.

Sorry for the confirmation delay. Little car issue tonight in the frozen tundra. Stay warm and safe everyone this weekend!!
