Item AIX A-1.0
There are no variable salary contracts.  Each year of a contract must have the same salary amount.  The only case where variable salaries are allowed is when a new contract extension is given.

You can't pay $1.5/yr. for 3 years. That's only $4.5m. You can do 1 yr.@ $5m, 2 yrs.  @ $2.50m or 3 yrs @ $2m
