Nationals/Padres trade 1/11/26 6:11P

[DaveW]

Nationals trade:

Jonathan India MI KC $6.5(2028)

Padres trade:

Nick Gonzalez MI PIT P-2027
Jefferson Rojas MI CHC prospect
Gordon Graceffo RP STL P-2028 (pls put in active RP slot)
Ryan Forcucci SP HOU prospect

Nationals approve.  I'm expecting a nice bounceback from India this year, but he's a pretty expensive MI given that I have Neto and Pena as starters.  I'm most excited about Rojas as a long term prospect.  Gonzalez is likely to lose his starting job with Konnor Griffin coming up soon but he should get enough at bats to fill in as needed.  Then SD has a surplus of prospects and I like Forcucci and Graceffo enough.  Thanks and good luck @BayAreaBallers !

The pads make this trade to help consolidate the roster a bit as we are over the MILb limit and felt this was a good move to help address that and get a mlb player on its roster
