Phillies Buyout Three Contracts

Phillies announce contract buyouts of three pitchers.  Retired SP Kyle Gibson, Injured RP Dedniel Nunez and minor league RP Taylor Scott.  Buyouts will add $4.5m to the Phillies 2025 roster payroll.

Contract Buyouts:

Kyle Gibson $8m (2026) Retired
2025 - 75% = $6m
2026 - 50% = $4m
Total $10 x 1.1 = $11m buyout (2025)

Dedniel Nunez $1m (2026) Injured
2025 - 75% = $750k round to $1
2026 - 50% = $500k
Total = $1.5m x 1.1 = $1.65 round to $2m buyout (2025)

Taylor Scott $500k (2026)
2025 - 75% = $375k
2026 - 50% = $250k
Total = $625k Round up $1m x 1.1 = $1.1 round to $1m buyout (2025)

Taylor Scott's Cap hit in 2025 would be $375k rounded to $500k.
That plus $250k in 2026 still needs to be rounded up to $1m so no harm, no foul
