Nationals - Tigers trade
« on: March 23, 2025, 01:26:06 PM »
Nationals trade:

Keibert Ruiz C WAS 6.25MM(2029)
Jeimer Candelario 1B/3B CIN 1.67MM(2027)
Jorge Lopez RP WAS 5MM(2026)

Tigers trade:

Will Smith C LAD 20MM(2029)
Hao Yu Lee 2B DET prospect

Nationals approve.  Trading from depth in order to get a very good major leaguer, even at an uncomfortable contract.  Allows me to eventually move Willson Contreras off of catcher to 1st base.

Thanks and good luck @TheLongHorn !

Fills a need with Rojas and Freeman dealing with minor injuries, also needed a relief pitcher. Tigers confirm.
