Our mission is for our GMs to simply run the franchise they have chosen the best of their ability. The league will handle everything else. If you like to follow league transactions you can find them in the league Archives. If any post is invalid it will be moved into the invalid section.
You will have control of your roster and all decisions that are associated with your roster build. All posts will be kept in the archives for all tracking purposes.
TRADING
Is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week from the start of the actual NHL League Year until the actual NHL deadline day. Our trade deadline will be the NHL deadline day at 11pm eastern time. Trades must be posted prior to this time.
Cash cannot be exchange during trades. Trades are approved or vetoed based on the 3 panel vote of the League Office & processed immediately after majority vote. Trades are between the trading parties & the league. Any team involved in the trade do not have a vote.
The current year and following year draft picks are available to trade.

Scoring formula is multifaceted geared towards rewarding game defining plays true to the overall Hockey experience. The scoring is head to head categories.
In season tie breakers for playoffs will follow NHL tie breaker formats. (Only if needed overall fantasy points would be the deciding tie breaker.)
Starting rosters are locked from March 8th 2025. This is the date rosters will be applied from. If they are in your organization on this date you control them.
No initial contract to exceed (2029) the standard max term of 5 years in LIVE leagues.
Once a player is called up their the AHL or NHL their contract starts. All players in juniors will be prospect-NA contracts
Note:
Players on your AHL/NHL can be moved to the starting lineup. Think of the AHL as your bench where you can put players that don?t have a game that day to plug in active ones. You may not move players from Juniors to the AHL/NHL roster without posting in the transactions on profsl.
All teams must have Active NHL players at every NHL position at all times to be legal.
FA CONTRACT TERMS
5yr deal must be at least $10m AAV
4yr deal must be at least $5m AAV
3yr deal must be at least $1m AAV
ALL DENOMINATIONS can be 1 or 2 years.
You can exceed next years cap during the off-season.
All teams must be cap compliant by start of season.
Further Explanation:
Bar Down teams have a cap ceiling.
Moving of cap hits, funds, cash, any form of currency movement or minipulation is not allowed.
RESIGN VALUE AAV
Player Contracts that are resigned will start the following season from 1yr extensions up to term limit extensions.
Extension values are based on the highest ranking of the last season with accrued statistics including the current season.
ONCE ANY NEW SEASON BEGINS FROM WEEK 1, A PLAYERS RESIGN IS THE HIGHEST RANKING INCLUDING CURRENT SEASON OR LAST SEASON.
Only contracts in the last year are eligible to be extended. Contracts that expire have no off-season grace period. Expired contracts become Unrestricted FA.
**This does not apply to start up resginings. You have the choice to sign any expiring deal. There will be an update with the date where FA extensions are due.
*The deadline to resign expiring contracts is the end of the actual NHL Regular Season. Once the final game ends so does the window to extend any players in their final year.

DRAFT
The draft will be 5 rounds.
The draft will take place on profsl.
11pm to 8am eastern the draft clock will be paused
Rounds 1-2 each gm will have 8 hours to select
Rounds 3-5 each gm with have 6 hours to select
Players that were eligible for the NHL draft are eligible for Bar Down?s draft. The player pool will be posted prior to the draft and updated throughout the draft when players are taken.
ROOKIE WAGE SCALE
In the NHL prospects sign "2 way" contracts that pay them max of $950k & minimum $750k with term limits of 1,2, or 3 years. This applies to all skaters and goalies.
Juniors do NOT count against your cap. When players are moved from Juniors to the active roster (AHL/NHL) they will have a 2 year contract matching the value on the spreadsheet. Drafted players cap hits range based on the round they were drafted and the values are below.
Players drafted in Bar Down will be placed in the Juniors unless requested otherwise or no room in juniors in which they will be placed in the AHL.
Players drafted in round one will have a 950k cap hit.
Players drafted in round two will have a 850k cap hit,
Players drafted in rounds three will have a 750k cap hit.
Players drafted in rounds four and five will have a 500k cap hit.
The players will have 2 year contracts at the value above before they need to be extended or hit free agency.
Pc contracts are 500k
All drafted players will be noted in the contract section on the SS.
Once a player is called up from the juniors he loses the ability to go back.
A player must be called up the following season after the player reaches 82 games played over their career.
Players Qualify for PC bid, P-n/a contracts, and placement in the juniors, until a player has played 1 NHL regular season game. No players with 1 game played are eligible for PC bids and require having the top bid for 24 hours.
Players who are signed as PC via "PC bid" are automatically placed on juniors.
A spot must be available at the time of the bid to support any bid
Players must appear on Fantrax and not be part of the upcoming draft class.
The Bar Down Draft will take place annually one week to the hour after the actual NHL Draft with all players being placed on juniors and a spot available needed to make any draft selection prior to the selection or the pick is voided and the team will be skipped.
Free Agency
FA Starts: 10/1/Every Year 8PM EST

Any team with an illegal roster cannot make an eligible bid.
Every teams SS should be up to date. Please post or message STLBlues91 any and all discrepancy between your fantrax and your SS.
Failure to have a legal roster both on fantrax and profsl by 10/1 (Bar Down FA) means you cannot make a legal bid until the roster is legal.
Fantrax will tell you why your roster is illegal for scoring.
The SS tells you financial and roster integrity legality.
Both must match prior to 10/1 start of every season.
24 hours as highest bidder wins the bid.

To make it easier to search the board, post players in the following format.

After a bid is won.
The contract must be specified or the league will specify it after 24 hours.

Releasing Players Under Contract
All contracts are Guaranteed, you may release a player at any time but cap hits apply.
CAP HITS ARE APPLIED TO ANY CONTRACT AT OR OVER $1M ANNUAL @ the rate of 100%/50%/25% X X.
Years 4 and 5 would be voided for dynasty league purposes.
Suspended players can be released at 100%/X X X X of current contract.
Retired Players = no cap hit to release
New Ownership = no cap hit to release.
***New ownership will have a 2 week window to drop without penaltlies. New ownership can?t trade for a player and drop them. All players eligible to be dropped are players that were on the roster at time of take over.
Placing A Player On Injured Reserve

Penalties
Are at the discretion of the league.
Being over the salary cap: Players will be released at the discretion of the moderator team. Drops will focus on inactive players before releasing players that have league value.
Fantrax:
The league will fix & optimize rosters on fantrax when needed. Failure to maximize your own roster can lead to anything from cap penalties to replacing you as a GM. Our goal is to have 32 active teams.
