Free agent bidding will commence at 9am EDT on Monday, February 10th. Bidding will happen on the Transaction board here:
https://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?board=4387.0Please note I have entered a sample bid on Ted Williams. This is how you will want to open bidding on a player (though, not necessarily starting it off at $100M as I did for Teddy Ballgame).
The Free Agency rules can also be found there at the top of the board stickied in green. Please read the rules!! Don't forget - you can ONLY HAVE
5 ACTIVE BIDS AT A TIME!! Be kind to your admins who have to follow all these bids to ensure everyone's bidding legally and do things right.
Two tips for bidders:
1) Don't be the guy that bids up a player by $100k in the 47th hour... People hate that!
2) Don't be the guy that bitches about the guy that bid up a player by $100k in the 47th hour...! In the end its their right!
But seriously, do your best to respect your fellow GM's. There might be a situation that forces you into bidding in the 47th hour. It happens. Remember, this is a game! An expensive one, I suppose, but still a game!
Also on the other rule changes we discussed:
Regarding Injured Reserve, the 4th option has been adopted. Here's how the rule reads:
Injured Reserve EligibilityOnly players on the MLB Disabled List are eligible to be placed on the Injured Reserve (IR). Fantrax determines IR eligibility. Players on IR do not count towards the roster limit, nor do their salaries count against the team salary cap. Once a player is removed from the MLB Disabled List and returns from injury, they must be taken off IR before the GM can make any player transactions, such as trades or free agent pickups.
The orphan team free drops are adopted as such:
Orphan Team ExceptionAny future GM taking over an orphaned team (one abandoned by its previous GM) will be granted up to three 'free drops.' These drops allow the new GM to eliminate any contract inherited from the prior management.
