Can we clarify what is meant by Arb 1 through Arb 6? My understanding is that arbitration generally begins after 3 years of service time and lasts through their 6th year of service time. That implies there would be only 3 arbitrations categories for any player. "Major League Baseball (MLB) players are eligible for salary arbitration if they have three to six years of service time." Perhaps, it would be best to use OF James Wood, Nationals as an example. On the Nats salary grid, Wood has salaries in 2025 through 2027, and then becomes Arb 1 in 2028. After 2030, he would become a free agent, so I am not sure when he would ever be Arb 4 though Arb 6.
There are other players who have contracts posted like Tucker. Depending on how the ruling goes, all rosters would need to be audited.
ARB1-.70m ARB2-.75m Arb3-.80m Arb4 through ARB6- previous year actual salary. On the SS I set it up using ARB 1-3 as the first years are already in the SS with the values and then teams have the 3 years of control after the .8m year.
I actually searched 90-99% of each player posted and did the audits as I was told to have it setup so the only 2 players like that are the 2 you posted about.
Why was James Wood Arb 1 in 2028 which is year 4 in the spreadsheet? How did you determine how to assign the categories?
