The rules state that someone has 3 days to post a contract after winning a player in free agency. What happens if they do not post a contract within 3 days?

Hypothetically, what if someone bids on a player with 2 minutes left in the 48 hours to win a bid just to screw over another manager, then doesn't actually want the player, wins the bid, then doesn't sign the player? What happens to the player, the manager that doesn't sign the player, and the manager that got outbid with 2 minutes left in the 48 hours?

Starting with next Off-season, we will have new minimums for bidding.

Under $9.9m bid, $0.5m minimum increase
$10-$49.9m, $2m minimum
$50m-$99.9m, $5m minimum
$100m+, $10m minimum

Will be updated in rules shortly. This does not effect the current Free Agency.

I like the bidding rule change for next year.

For the other rule clarification, I think that the contract should just be set automatically (longest allowed?) if the team does not specify. Just letting it go to the next bidder has 2 problems that I see:

1) It lets owners run up bids on players and not risk getting stuck with them...they can just not sign them. If we do this, then we might as well allow owners to modify/retract offers.

2) More of a problem for fairness (although not so much for the Ingram case) is that this rule means that other owners might miss out on chances to bid what the winning bid was. For example, owner A bids 10m on a player, owner B jumps to 30m, wins and then doesn't sign the player. This would mean owner A wins for 10m even though some owners might have been willing to bid 12-30m but couldn't.

Of course, I agree that it should be next bidder for now if it is posted somewhere. Just a suggestion for the future.

This is a trade/roster type question I guess?

Hypothetically, if I were to trade 1 player for 5 players and I was instantly buying out the 5 players I was getting back in return would I need open roster spots for those players or can I put in the transaction post regarding the trade that I am buying out the players?

IE: I have 12 full roster spots. Can I trade one guy for more than one guy as long as I am buying out the extra number of players I am getting in return as part of the trade transaction?

I mean you could do that. Not sure why you would want to but there's nothing in the rules specifically against trading 1 player for 5 and immediately buying them out.

I have two questions about IR slots.
Does every move from and to IR need to be posted or can I simply make the change in Fantrax?
Assuming I have temporarily 13 players (not counting G-league and including one injured player in IR) and the injured player is upgraded to healthy, how much time I have to move him to an active slot? Can I keep him out indefinitely to avoid a drop?

Before the season I moved a player in Fantrax myself and posted the move here, but it looks like I should have just posted here and waited for someone else to move him instead when I reread the rules.

Yes, each move your team makes needs to be posted aside from lineup changes. This includes moves between your vet and minors rosters. We have to update the sheet so fantrax and the sheet match at all times. Each transaction is a record so that way we can track player movement and financials effectively. If a player is traded, we know where he is right before he's traded.

As for the other question, I'd prefer to have Billy answer that one.

You will need to post the promotion and/or demotion each time so we can track player movement on fantrax and the sheet. After you post the move, you are welcome to make the swap on fantrax yourself. It would help us out if you post that you have done the move on fantrax yourself so we can move onto the next move we need to process.
