Canes sign Tom Wilson to extension

[99WildThing]

This one hurts because we didn't have the cap space to resign Wilson before the start of the off season and the increase to skater extensions took effect yesterday.

Canes will use the 10% cap overage and resign:
RW - Tom Wilson, $1.8m (2017-2020) 5yr extension contract $10.0m (2020-2025)
18/19 - 34
19/20 - 6

He is a beast and seems to be getting better, stronger, faster and meaner!

I think this extension exceeds your off season 10% cap overage at this time since you’ve also got an earlier signed Montour extension in the books which puts your Canes roughly at $10million over or approximately 2million on tre other side of the $8.1 million overage.

Yes AND No at the same time King of the reptiles! LOL

Yes - Canes can sign this post-dated.
No - it's going to fail Oct 5th 0h01ET if there's not enough cap space in 2020-21 for the Canes.

Let's call it a valid PLACeHOLDER for a future extension.
