Trade: Yankees - Twins 6-18-19 5:53 pm ET

[Yeagg]

Yankees trade:

C MJ Melendez P-n/a $0.5m
CI Andy Young P-n/a $0.5m

Twins trade:

CI/OF Ian Desmond 2020 $5.0m (2020 paid in full)
P Drew Strotman P-n/a $0.5m

##corresponding move demote Roman Urias to the MiLB roster.

Yankees are all in for the next few seasons so we are selling to take a chance on Desmond staying hot and helping me round out my line up. Down the road I could regret giving up that kind of talent but if I win a WS then it will be worth it. Thanks Anthony

[Anthony]

I accept. This leaves me some financial room for this current year to make any buyout moves or whatnot that I want to do. I also really lack a good catching prospect so this fills a hole there for me as I find myself on the cusp of my minors talent getting called up.

My corresponding moves will be to call up Mitch Keller and send both players down to the minors.
