Pittsburgh - Detroit trade

[izaman3]

To Pittsburgh
D - Max Gildon (2017: 3/66 - 0 games)

To Detroit
Kevin Connauton, $1.4m (2017-2019)

Detroit makes this deal to add before the playoffs. We can enough cap with our recent buyout of Val and the buyout discount.

Thanks for the deal Pittsburgh, good luck with Gildon! He should be a good one

Pens confirm.

Thanks for the deal, Wings ... good luck to you as well.

This is a good trade for both teams given Connauton was a Free Agent signing that has become productive and remains an inexpensive addition to a contending team. Meanwhile, Maxwell Gildon shows promise as a talented offensive defenseman in the NCAA.

Unless I'm mistaken with math, Detroit doesn't have the cap to make this trade (avail cap 0.7m vs 1.4m need to add Connauton).

It looks like Detroit has a buyout discount for Valtteri Filppula, $0.8m (2017-2019) that. is currently in process ... http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=321943.0

I think that should cover it.

Also my second franchise tag should be on Mantha, giving me $0.5m more in cap
