Giving up picks is not my favorite thing to do, its against my philosophy on building a franchise. That said when you only win 13 games it kind of makes you retool your thoughts. So when Pageau became available i pulled the trigger. He is a nice add to a team full of youth. The first and second picks i had already mapped out, Pageau will payoff dividends now. Thanks for the easy talks Rip!

My Easter gift to Columbus!

We need to retool our farm system so adding picks was essential.

GL on the trade,
Ripper

I enjoyed reading this. I respect what every GM believes in building his or her own team.

I realize draft picks are gold depending on the GM.

:iatp: Doubt blk had to pay that steep a price for a player the Blues werent or couldnt afford to resign but still a good hockey trade.

:iatp: That Jean-Gabriel Pageau, $0.3m (2014-2017-EL) extension ain't going to be cheap. Good deal for both, slightly better for STL.
