WHO TO PROTECT IN EXPANSION DRAFT?

[jackdaniels]

We'll throw your Vegas Golden Knoghts a bone :toast: You might not like the bone but we'll throw you one regardless. :Koolaid:

I think franchise values will continue to climb. This place is well run and excuse free.

haha But I probably have the youngest team in the league. A lot of teams will have tough decisions to make (looking at all you teams with 2 goalies).

hmmmm.....i might challenge you on that one with my Leafs. All 4 goalies i have are exempt. I have a decision or two with the yotes, nothing difficult.

If i had to guess Avs mightve exposed the most young talent having promoted a bunch of prospects well in advance to get an insanely cheap if not criminal extension value.

If the expansion draft were to take place today I doubt Calgary would have much to offer Vegas.

Calgary Flames have a straight-forward task here.

1. Mark Giordano, $5.0m (2016-2020-FP-6.6  :CLG:)
2. Anze Kopitar, $4.3m (2015-2018)
3. Milan Lucic, $5.9m (2013-2017)
4. Chris Kreider, $2.7m (2014-2017)
5. Mikeal Backlund, $2.9m (2015-2018)
6. Elias Lindholm, $2.8m (2016-2019)
7. Tyler Ennis, $3.4m (2015-2018)
8. Joe Morrow, $1.5m (2015-2018)

Goalie. Brian Elliott, $6.3m (2015-2019)

[snugerud]

1 - Bryan Little, $5.7m (2015-2019)
2 - Micheal Ferland, $1.5m (2015-2018)
3- Jesper Fast, $0.4m (2015-2017)
4 - Olli Maatta, $3.2m (2015-2018)
5 - Dustin Byfuglien, $7.1m (2016-2020)
6- Adam Lowry, $2.4m (2015-2018)
7 - Radek Faksa, $0.3m (2016-2018)

8- Devan Dubnyk, $8.9m (2015-2020)

as it stands now... Phil Kessel will probably work his way in there.  Probably depend on extensions etc.

I think that was the best trade the Canadiens couldve made dealing Helly! :iatp:

Interesting to see teams making moves to prepare for the Expansion Draft. Its clear owners want to setup their roster for some big opportunities in late Spring early Summer prior to the August draft.
