Nationals/Reds Trade

[lp815]

The Nationals and Reds have agreed to the following:

Nationals receive:
SP Dwyer, Christopher, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Duffy, Danny, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Reds receive:
CI Borchering, Bobby, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Hamilton, Billy, $0.5m (P-n/a)

I make this move to acquire a couple prospect pitchers who should see the majors a bit sooner than most of my young guys.  Hamilton is a top 50 prospect on a few boards, but reports show him and Borchering a couple years away, and I'm hoping Duffy shows up later this season, and Dwyer will see time in 2012.  A 'future-for-present' exchange for me.

Smooth talks Dan, thank ya.  Reds to confirm.

Reds confirm. I like the upside that Borchering and Hamilton offer. Borchering was considered the best HS in his draft, and Hamilton has shot up prospect boards this year. Both are far away, but should be worth waiting for.

Thanks Jake. These talks were smoother than an ice cold Colt 45.

You really don't like the prospects that I sent you eh, Dan?

[Dan Wood]

Haha, I liked them just fine, just like Delmon, Chone, Borchering, Darnell, and Hamilton better.
