Dodgers/Giants Trade

[BHows]

Dodgers send OF Morse, Mike, $2m (2015) to SF for OF Ervin, Phillip, $0.5m (P-n/a).
Adding Rusney Castillo late in the season makes Morse or Smith expendable. Getting a good Of prospect in return. Besides, Ernie is a Giants fan and I follow the Reds.
Thanks Ernie, great dealing with you!

Although it's tough to give up a prospect like Phil Ervin, Michael Morse fills a need in the OF.  I realize he's an injury risk, but he played more games as a Giant than he has in the recent past.  Morse also qualifies as a CI and position flexibility is always a plus.

Being a "homer", the fact that Morse is a Giant is an added bonus.

Thanks Rick.  :toth:
