Lightning & Blues Trade

[snugerud]

Not part of any committee let alone a trade committee but I gotta agree with Daddy'o' on this one.  From what I can tell both guys are long standing GM's that have been seen as very competent up to this point.  Whether anyone else in the league likes the deal or not really doesn't matter.

In the end it's two good GM's trying to make a deal that they see as a the best move for their team.
Frankly if one of them can screw the other guy over in a deal , I give them a slow clap applause.

(I would see this very differently if it was a brand new GM in the league that nobody knew anything about or a GM that has shown a history of bad moves within a short period)

I'll get back to this over the weekend.
Decision by Monday.

Some feedback...
Given this is a paid/money league we almost can move away from TC. The Trade Committee was important + critical during the free league days but it still has a role now since some teams pay 5$ while other buyin at upwards of 30$ (might have to adjust that in the future).

That said, if an owner pays for their team(s) and wants to overhaul and target a yr out to start being competitive we may be impeding by vetoing a trade that plays to that owner's longterm objective.

Stay tuned, will post a decision by Monday. :judge:

I'm the messenger.
Trade approved given the integrity of both gents and money has been paid(except Ripper hasn't coughed up but we know he's good for 5).

PR and I had a chat and if FNHL continues to get the best owners buying in, there may not be a TC by next yr.

Daddy is clearly a hot headed Flyers fan but that's the way Philly fans are. Nice recovery there Daddy.

The explanation on why the commissioners reversed the veto makes good sense. Daddy and Ripper are known on the site and have paid their cash. Also the rules in FNHL seem to allow teams to speed up rebuilds with ABOs, regular BOs and buy out discounts that even teams stripped of good players or overloaded with expensive players have a means of rebuilding quickly. Lets move on and get this season started. :toast:
