Trade Jets & Avalanche

[JohnnyWeissflog]

:WIN: trade:

RW Joel Ward, $2.0m (2014-2017)

:COL-NHL: trade:

RW Tommy Wingels, $4.6m (2014-2017)

Pretty straightforward trade. I get the younger guy, who is capable of putting together monster points. Ward is solid too, but won't get any younger. Have still lots of cap, so no problems here.

Wingels actually played during the lockout in my hometown team Kouvolan KooKoo in the Finnish first division, and he quickly become the sweetheart of the city. So ever since I missed him on free agency, have had my eyes on him

Welcome Tommy!

The Avalanche are pleased to welcome Joel Ward back to Colorado once again! Thanks to Johnny for the deal....I knew there was one to be had but it took a bit of spam from my end to finally sort it out. In the end it was really very simple. Wingles production was near 2PPG over a full season last year so I was heavy bidder in free-agency. Cash is King though and I need to manage my cap!!

Thanks again Johnny.

:iatp: Already Ward's 2nd tour of duty with the Avs.
Avs move youth and cap for slightly less scoring and cap savings!

Haha, a deal of preferences and cap space. If it works for them, it works for me.

I think Wingels is a good player but need to see him produce consistently before handing him that kind of contract. This is a good deal for both teams with the Jets banking on Tommy to repeat his high scoring ways and the Avs getting back a good fantasy scorer who is cap friendly.
