Jake and I are creating a new league that will be a ProFSL original, with a format that has never been used. Below are the league details. We are messaging you gentlemen first, as we are looking for 20 active/intelligent owners who are familiar with ProFSL. We will recruit outward afterward.
Starting Rosters
We will have a 25 man MLB roster and a 20 man minor league roster. MLB rosters will be created using a slow auction draft format that will begin once all spots have been filled. The minor league roster will be determined by an ordered serpentine draft with a randomized order that will be set prior to the draft. The starting MLB roster is as follows:
C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, RF, UT
SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P
B, B, B, B, B, B, B, B
After each season, you will select 10 MLB players to keep into the next season, as well as all of your minor league players.
Scoring
The regular season will be a rotisserie style scoring format with the following categories:
Hitting: Runs, Batting Avg., RBI, Home Runs, Stolen Bases, OPS
Pitching: Quality Starts, K's, K/BB ratio, WHIP, Holds + Saves, ERA
After the regular season, there will be an 8 team playoff that will be in a head-to-head scoring format, using the same categories.
Payroll
Payroll will be set at $90.0m for the first season. Each season, a team's cap will fluctuate based on performance. This will be capped at $10.0m as the ceiling and the floor, so you will gain/lose no more than this any given season, and no team may have a payroll greater than $120.0m or any less than $60.0m. Actual cap changes based on performance will be determined soon, but these are the maximums that will be allowed. Your 10 kept MLB players will remain on your payroll each season, while all remaining players are released, and their salaries are null and void, allowing money to be replenished each season.
Membership
This league will be one of the first pay leagues on ProFSL. A $20 entry fee (payable by simply donating to ProFSL) will be required, with 100% being paid out. Payouts will be the follwing:
1st place: $140
2nd place: $90
3rd place: $50
All 12 categories will have the top scorer win $10 for each category. So if you do not place, you still have a chance to earn a payout.
More details, such as contract limits and extensions, will be determined shortly.
We really hope this league will be a refreshing and interesting league each season, by allowing it to be a hybrid keeper/redraft league with contracts and minor league rosters. Please reply soon with your interest in this league.
Rules are being posted ASAP as they are listed here. 6 spots remaining, as 14 have been spoken for.
