TRADE Philly and Detroit

[izaman3]

To Philadelphia
Joe Pavelski, $7.9m (2014-2018)

To Detroit
Brendan Gallager, $3.5m (2014-2017)
:PHI-NHL: Round 2 - 2014

Another caller for my trade block. I lose the productive stud Pavelski, but I gain a young emerging star on a great contract and a good pick. Hopefully Gallager continues to grow and proves again that size doesn't matter. Some of the new people don't know this, but I got Pavelski earlier this summer for a 2nd and 4th rounder so I like my return.

Thanks for the deal Papps!

Flyers agree. I give up some youth but I think my Flyers can compete for a championship this year. Pavelski has some good years left so I was ok parting with Gallager.

Thanks Izaman and good luck to ya  :toast:

:iatp: I knew little Joe wouldnt last in DET.

Yeah if we think back to the deal that brought Joe to DET and what Izzys getting for him now, Win to the Wings. Otherwise sweet deal for both guys.

Two crafty GMs...surprised no blood was spilled.
Good trade

I do believe Pavelski would have cost less if he had reached Free Agency.

Joe is an excellent high-end player. He is entering his prime. That nearly $8.0 Million cap hit is tough to swallow however both teams have done well in this trade.

 :iatp: Like what Philly is getting, a legit top line C/LW. Gallagher is a great young player. Add a 2nd and Detroit made out alright here.

:iatp: I like this trade for both guys. Good players going each way. Smart deals ppl!
