2013-14 FNHL Playoffs ROUND 1 (Mar 10-16)

[PigsRule]

2nd place Atlantic Division :FLO:  Panthers will play 3rd place :DET-NHL: in a rematch of their Week 20 game in which Florida edged Detroit after the Wings held the lead until the final day of the week. Goaltending is sure to decide this Round 1 matchup.

[jackdaniels]

:CLG:  Flames edge out :DAL-NHL:  Stars for the final Western Wildcard spot with a better Division record (Flames 4-4 vs the Stars 0-7) but now have to figure a way to defeat the Western Conference leading :STL-NHL:  Blues who own the 2nd best record overall during Regular Season.

It helps that the Flames added several decent goalies after playing most of the season without a starter just after the new owner bought the team in January.

It's a whole new season boys.
Flames are looking to go deep into the postseason. :win:

[jackdaniels]

:CLS:  Blue Jackets have overtaken the :NYI:  Islanders for 1st place in the Metropolitan Division. That's the good news. Now the Jackets get to face high scoring Eastern Wildcard #1 :BOS-NHL: Bruins from the tough Atlantic Division.

PPG all I can say is I hope you know what you're up against. Boston takes no prisoners! :taco:

And we meet again. Best of luck to your team PPG. Bring it on! :winner:

[Burkes Boys]

:LAK:  Kings have overtaken incumbant :SJ: for 2nd place in the Pacific Division. Sharks move down to 3rd after losing to LA in the final week of the Regular Season but get an immediate rematch in Round 1 of the Playoffs.

Unbelievable! I hate when that happens.
Nice going LA. Best of luck in the play-offs.  :toast:

Can't see my Toronto team offering much opposition. Only have backup goalies and 2 are injured.  :DL: :puke:

The toughest part about pointing the Los Angeles franchise in the right direction was filling out the roster with players from a bare Free Agent pool. That said there was no doubt in my mind the Kings could climb in the standings.

Good-luck to the :SJ: San Jose Sharks franchise. May the best team move on. :toast:

My Hawks will have a tough road ahead as we are going to try to win Round 1 without Carey Price. That's not just a tough road, but an uphill battle. Man that sucks!
