White Sox/ Giants trade

[Dan Wood]

White Sox get
OF Gomez, Carlos, $2.5m (2016)
C Joseph, Tommy, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Giants get
CI-OF Trumbo, Mark, $0.5m (P-2014)
SP Johnson, Erik, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI Villanueva, Christian, $0.5m (P-n/a)

I do this to get who I feel is a better player in Gomez. Losing two highly thought of players to land him is tough, but I have the rotation depth to move Johnson. Joseph fills a need at Catcher, and we hope he makes it to the show this year, and that last years numbers were a fluke. Thanks for the talks Flash.

It's always tough to give up a good player like Carlos Gomez, but I'm getting a quality power player in return in Mark Trumbo.  Getting Erik Johson improves my pitching staff.  Getting Christan Villanueva offsets the loss of Tommy Joseph, a player who is a whack on the noggin from having to change positions.   Thanks for making this happen Dan :toth:
