Oilers and Jackets Trade

[PsychoticPondGoons]

Columbus is looking to add a Center and has to mortgage part of it's future to do so.
Edmonton looks to be selling at the trade deadline and building for the future.

TO OILERS
Minor League Prospect C - Bo Horvat (2013: 1/9 - 0 Games)
D Tim Erixon, $0.7m (2013-2015)
Round 2 - 2014 :CLS:
Edmonton gains 2.3m in cap space

TO JACKETS
C Sean Couturier, $3.0m (2013-2014)

I get one of my boys in Orange and Black over to Columbus. The price is the 9th overall pick from the 2013 NHL entry draft Horvat, a 2nd rounder and a possible offensive defenseman of the future in Erixon.

Denny M to confirm. Thank DM! :toast:

I wouldn't mind seeing EDM's feedback on this deal but overall I think it's a good trade between teams headed in different directions as the yr comes to a close.

I still see a great nucleus in :EDM: even if Sean is dealt. With the likes of
Zetterberg
Toews
van Riemsdyk
Gagner
Keith
Niklas Backstrom
...the Oilers should be ready to compete next year after some off-season or trade deadline retooling.

I like the Oilers' package more, but Sean is a good young player

The important thing is to make sure both teams get value from the trade.
I'm not here for screw up my favourite league.  :winner:

Columbus wants to keep dealing. Let's talk gentlemen!  :toast:
