The Cubs and Angels are pleased to announce the following trade;

X-OF McLouth, Nate, Cash Exchange on Contract, $3.5m in 2011 (this $ is being paid by the Cubs, so contract reverts to normal)
OF Rios, Alex, $10.5m (2014)
X-OF Rios, Alex, Cash Exchange on Contract, $3m in 2012, $-5m in 2011

for

CI Glaus, Troy, $2.0m (2012)
OF Cabrera, Melky, $1.5m (2012)
MI Salcedo, Edward, $0.5m (2012)
MI Flaherty, Ryan, $0.5m (P-n/a)

By making this deal the Angels reduce their over the cap number substantially, and acquire two very good MI prospects. The Cubs obtain some much needed offensive help as they turn their efforts to rebuilding the offense. Cubs approve.
