Rangers - Red Wings trade

FULL DISCLOSURE: The team that would be getting the better is in my division :DET-NHL: ... but it doesn't alter my opinion on this trade.

Here's an option... if :NYR: truly believes in their team and are committed to rebuilding, purchase the team for 20$.

Alternatively, purchase any other available team :VAN: :CLG: :MON-NHL: :COL-NHL: :CLS:

Consistency... sure it can be applied but as I mentioned and as other owners here know the other teams involved in skewed trades were consistently active or still own competitive teams after their trades. :NYR: are laying on the cellar floor and in desperate need of a rebuild.

Dealing away one of it's top 3 players (who's left after Hossa, the two Kanes Evander and Patrick... Backlund and Mitchell might be stars on someone's team but ) doesn't help.

Either way, discussion is open to all and healthy for the league.

I am not trying to win popularity contest. Nor trying to be a douche.

I am wondering why there is nothing happening on this deal. How can I move forward when I am stuck for days waiting to see what happens?  I joined this league cus it looks like a serious hockey league. And I think it's a great league and I don't mind taking a fledgling team and try to do something with it. Throw me a bone here.

After reading the points in the thread then my vote is to approve this trade. I don't think it's the smartest trade to make but I feel this trade is being made with good intentions. Hossa is worth more then the return but I don't think it will kill the franchise.

I agree Pigs! That Anaheim/Minn trade was horrible!!

:NYR: completed 2 basic player extensions and have zero cap issue... never really had a cap issue really.

So bottomline,

Hossa for 2 players that might not even make their NHL teams once camp wraps up (real Flyers have 8 decent D in camp, 9 if you count Samuel Morin who likely won't make it but could; real Panthers have Butler on a 2-way deal and is 4th on their depth chart + plenty of Professional TryOut Offer invites) would be bad for the league, not only this Rangers team.
