To clarify my position, I think the deal can be salvaged with additional assets going to Montreal. As it stands I am 100% against it. My vote is a Veto but allowing for changes to be made and accepted within this thread.

In voting by committee one should reasonably expect voices favouring both sides of a fair and balanced trade. Are we simply determining that while Montreal is losing this deal it is not as unpalatable as risking a bit of friction or debate?

So far I have not heard one good reason why it should be approved as written. My question for the two GM's that have approved: Would you do this trade if you managed Montreal?

I don't think I am asking us not to debate this; I figured everyone else on the committee would have placed their vote by now because this trade has been sitting for two days.

But if it is a discussion you want, I have no problem obliging.

Personally, I would not make this trade if I were Montreal. (highlighted so people can see) I would be asking for one more piece simply because Schneider is that good of a trade chip. Heck, look at the package I put together to obtain Crawford (oddly enough, the two GMs that approved this trade were involved with the Crawford deal).

Just to rehash, I sent Neuvirth, Kuemper, Hackett, Theodore, Chiasson, Marcus Foligno, and a 2nd to norrya for Crawford, Tanguay, Siemens, and a 4th.

But I also feel that this deal is not detrimental to the Montreal franchise. Hutchinson is proven to be as good as advertised, although it is a very small sample. Ramo looks like a cash dump (just like Theodore was in my Crawford deal). And a late 1st/early 2nd in this league usually obtains a solid young goalie (Raanta, Hutchinson, Ortio) or a prospect very close to NHL ready (Kucherov, Jarnkrok, Lee). As long as ursanator does his homework, that pick will be fruitful.

I don't think this deal is veto-able, but I also believe usranator could have received more for Schneider. But if the commish believes that this deal is that detrimental to the league, he has the power to veto the whole thing (something Drew has yet to do).

If this trade is vetoed then I obviously reserve the right to rework the deal and/or revoke my other deal as acquiring Schneider was the only reason I was willing to move Khudobin.

I don't have much to say on this trade   


I feel this trade give's a big boost for this year but not veto-able as receive the 2nd piece of puzzle in Hutch since they already have Ondrej Pavelec ... clearly ONE of those 2 will be the starter on a much better team than Schneider is .
