Minor League Trades

I have too many players that I drafted over the age for my lower level minor league teams (I had the wrong age for my Rookie clubs).  I am trying to avoid a wholesale dump and leaving large holes in my Rookie level teams.  If anyone might be interested in working out some minor league trades (not necessarily at the rookie level), please let me know.  In the process, I would love to bolster my depth at catching especially and on the hitting side generally.

Oakland, Cleveland, Pittsburgh may possibly be interested. I still have to cut a bunch of players for Oakland and Cleveland, but I anticipate I can add more minor leaguers afterwards.

I'm thinking of 3 for 1 trades? Oakland and Cleveland didn't draft many people so they will be able to add players after I make a round of cuts. See if there's anything that intrigues you.

This age thing is bogging me too.  Drafted 15 of 25 age 20 or older, so having a hard time getting them all to fit.

I have very good catching depth in the system, so take a look and let me know.

FYI, the age rule is more restrictive than I thought it would be. Am considering a modification to it for next year.

Kenny, just an FYI... I don't have 20 pitchers under age 20 for my DSL and AZL leagues to meet the minimum.  The age restriction will result in a lot of releases that just seem to be too much, simply because players are age 20 and 21..  What is the reasoning behind the age restrictions anyway?  MLB has no such thing I don't believe. 

I'd even be in a greater hole if I had continued drafting after the 25 I have.  Of those, 15 are age 20 or older, so 14 of them are having to take the age restriction hits for my two rookie leagues.  It leaves no room for existing players who happen to be 20 or 21.

I've waived the minimum pitchers rule.

MLB has service time limits instead of age limits. Age was an approximation in this league as there's no publicly available source for minor league service time. I'd like to keep restrictions for the minor leagues based on age, but will increase the age limit for one of the rookie teams for next year.

Having restrictions keeps teams active in the amateur draft every year, as they would have to release some minor leaguers every year. Having a team draft 60 players one year and 5 the next would not be ideal.

If there are no objections, I'd be willing to waive the age requirements for this year until we get a better age limit for next year. I'd also be willing to let people who've waived players because of the age limit to add them back at no penalty.

I am still open to trades.  I still want to improve my depth in some areas.
