Minor League Age Limits

If there are no objections, I'd be willing to waive the age requirements for this year until we get a better age limit for next year. I'd also be willing to let people who've waived players because of the age limit to add them back at no penalty.

Based on my prior Posting(s) you know there would be no
objection from me . Seems an unnecessary hassle ( which
acts as a deterrent to participating in this league ) to have
to research the age and/or birthdays of about half the
minor leaguers .

I think this would definitely be for the best. I like the idea of age limits but I'm not sure of a way to manage them that doesn't take a great deal of time on everyone's part.

The only idea I really have at this point would be for each team to have a big pool of minor league players with a maximum total number and 'X' percentage of them would need to fit whatever criteria is decided (or a quota system could also be used). Whether it's age, position, etc. That way it would be easier for the GM's to manage and easier for Kenny, etc to administer because there would be less moving players from minor league team to minor league team. 

Don't get me wrong - I love the current setup. I especially love having all of the distinct minor league teams. I just haven't been able to come up with another solution that makes it easier all around.

That would be fabulous, since I have put myself in kind of a pickle drafting all a bunch of college players.

That would be great, Kenny.  I was just going thru my roster trying to trim where I could, and trying to meet the requirements of age.

Effective immediately, age limits will not be enforced until next off-season. By then, the rule will be modified to be more accommodating of college players.

Anybody that has already dropped minor leaguers because of the age limit may add them back on for no fee or penalty. You have two weeks to do this.

I've mentioned to some people already, but I fully intend to keep some sort of restriction on age limits. It prevents GM's from keeping their minor leagues full of major league backups. It also strongly encourages people to participate in the amateur draft every year. It also reflects the MLB rules, which do have a restriction, but is based on service time as opposed to age.
